North of Knowing
Something is stirring. And the old answers aren't enough anymore.
Not a crisis, exactly. More like a quiet insistence.
A longing you can feel but can't quite name.
The sense that there's something more — something deeper — and you can no longer find it in the places you used to look.
Maybe a faith that once held you has started to feel too small.
Maybe the frameworks you grew up with, or chose, no longer contain what you're actually experiencing.
Maybe you've simply arrived at a place in life where the outer world's definitions of who you are and what matters have stopped being enough.
You're not lost.
You're between stories.
And that is its own kind of tender, disorienting place to be.
Maybe this is where you are
-
The spiritual life you've had — the faith, the practice, the framework — still means something to you. But it no longer quite fits what you're living. Something has outgrown it, or been broken open by it, and you're not sure what comes next.
-
You're drawn inward. Not away from life — but toward something underneath it. A quieter kind of knowing that doesn't come from books or doctrine or other people's certainty.
-
You've had experiences — of loss, of beauty, of something you can only call sacred — that don't fit neatly into the categories you've been given. You want a space where that's allowed to be true.
-
You're not looking for answers. You've had enough of answers. You're looking for someone who can sit with the questions alongside you — without rushing you toward resolution.
-
Something ancient feels like it's ready to stir. You don't quite know what it is. But you know you don't want to miss it.
Soul care. Not soul fixing.
North of Knowing is Focusing-oriented spiritual companioning — a 1:1 space for those in midlife or the second half of life who are navigating the interior journey.
I don't offer doctrine, direction, or a new framework to replace the old one. I offer presence. A space where you can listen inward — slowly, without agenda — and begin to trust what you find there.
Focusing is the ground of this work — the way I facilitate the inner process. You don’t have to learn it. You simply experience it as part of how we listen together.
This is for the second half of life.
For the inward turn.
For those who are done performing their spiritual life and ready to simply live it.
This is for you if
-
You're in midlife or the second half of life and something sacred is stirring — even if you don't have words for it yet.
-
You're drawn to depth, to silence, to the kind of knowing that lives below the thinking mind.
-
You want a companion for the inward journey — not a guide with a map, but someone who will walk alongside you in the not-knowing.
-
You're ready to stop looking for answers out there and start listening for what's already in here.

“The secret of life is to let every segment of it produce its own yield at its own pace. The harvest of youth is achievement; the harvest of middle-age is perspective; the harvest of age is wisdom; the harvest of life is serenity.”
Joan D. Chittister
